Top Sushi-Grade Seafood Supplier Launches Home Delivery in NY & NJ

ELIZABETH, NJ (May 31, 2020) – Having sushi withdrawal during the lockdown? If you live in New York or New Jersey, almost every item you can find at your local sushi bar can now come directly to your door from True World Foods, a wholesale seafood and Asian food distributor that supplies 80% of high-end and mid-range sushi restaurants in the U.S. and Canada. Fish, seafood and more: Fish and seafood selections range from fresh bluefin and yellowfin tuna and Atlantic and king salmon – both cut in one-pound pieces the morning of delivery for just-caught freshness – to live lobster and king crab as well as frozen Chilean sea bass, marinated mackerel, octopus legs, squid rings, salmon roe, crawfish and calamari salads and more. Many items are ready to use or cook without needing sushi-chef knife skills.


The list also includes grocery items such as frozen gyoza dumplings, edamame, seaweed salad, and large bags of both white and brown rice, along with sushi staples such as nori, wasabi, pickled ginger and multiple varieties of soy sauce. All products feature the same premium quality and food safety controls as those sold to restaurants.

Delivery 4 days a week: Orders are delivered in the same True World Foods-owned refrigerated trucks normally used to supply sushi restaurants in the tri-state area, following the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) safety guidelines. The website includes detailed instructions on food storage, thawing and cooking.


New York and New Jersey deliveries are available on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Orders require a $100 minimum and must be placed by midnight the day before the desired delivery. 


The company rolled out its first direct-to-consumer program in Atlanta in April and plans to add service in Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco and Sacramento shortly. Each geography will be supplied from the local True World Foods warehouse, leveraging the company’s 26 locations throughout North America.
